Current/Past Projects

Current Projects:

Windows Phone 7 First Robotics App

I'm currently creating a Windows Phone 7 App that uses the Windows Azure Cloud service to aid the judging  of the First Robotics Competition. In making this application I have learned some ins and outs of server-to-client communication as well as how to host services and data storage using Windows Azure. This project will soon be completed and a sample will be provided for download onto a WP7.1.

Maximum Chaos is a 4-player top-down shooter built with the Unity game engine. It was a project that began in my Game Studio class at Ferris in Spring 2011, and I continued working on it as a texhnical artist until the following fall. Max Chaos was entered into the 2012 Independent Games Festival.

Personal Postmortem: Max Chaos lived up to its name in just about every way, as this project was a chore to complete. This was brought on by a heap of communication issues and a general lack of interest on both the programming and art teams. It did not help that this type of class had never been held before, and the two professors who co-taught it were just as frustrated with the project as the students. Nevertheless, after cobbling together what passed for a game, we had completed what our professors asked us to do: Make something that works.
After the semester had passed, I set out with two other programming students to fix Max Chaos on our own. The process was tedious, to say the absolute least. After a lot of resizing, reimporting, reprogramming, and a LOT of redesigning, we produced what you see now, a much more polished, stable, and enjoyable game.
All in all, I gained a good amount of experience working on and managing a team, especially in the instances of motivational slumps and confusion/frustration. I also got a handle on what was feasible for a given time period, and what was extremely unrealistic. I'm glad to have been part of the polish team.
